War Between Brothers

This story tells a tale of seperataion, as does Carrie Underwood's songs. The tale of two young girls, one living in the South and the other further North during a hard time of dispute and rivalry. The effects of the rising tension between the South and North are effecting everyone in their lives around them, and they watch, feeling like outsiders to their own story as the battles tear apart thier families, their friends, and finally results in a war killing and wounding hundreds of people, spearding the horrifying effects of heartbreaking seperation and death all around them.

Join Clare and Daisy as they protray this incredibly emotional tale of seperation and loss.

Trivia bit; This is the first video we've done that has it's own original storyline, from the creative minds of Clare and Jackson!

This video was a lot of firsts for us! One of them was having to main people behind the cameras! Working out shot angles and being careful not to get in each other's scenes was tricky, so we needed a lot of practice at it! But we managed to arrange a film pattern that worked out, and we eneded up getting twice the amount of footage! Every bit of acting was caught on camera!

Arranging the hair and costumes for this video was a lot of fun!

Filming this video was a challenge for all. For the actresses, truly connecting to the pain of these characters and bringing that to the surface was definitely a skill that needed to be practiced a lot, and getting used to having two main people filming was also a difficult development! But we made it work!

Violet directing her actresses....it doesn't seem like they're listening....

The story of the Civil War offered a lot of ideas for a lot of fighting scenes! The schoolyard fight scene was fun, especilly since no one actuallty wanted to try to offend each other but still wanted to look mad in charecter. (If you had the audio you would hear Eaden and Jackson yelling about the show Psych and oxidation number.) But the war scenes overall had to be the most fun (although most sombre) to shoot. The costumes were fun to put together and make them look time-appropriate. Tessa was busy all morning handing out injuries!

All up in soldier garb ready for our renactment!

We used a lot of different sets for this video! Arranging the cast and where everyone would stand was a lot of fun and it was neat finding new ways to position people in one shot! We needed to have a lot of back-up hair and makeup people off set in case there was an onstage emergency!

The set for this video had a lot of extra porpuses that most of us didn't even think of! Locking oursevles in planter cages, for example.

Every time in history had its' own fashions. It's own style clothing, hair, and makeup. We had to do a lot of research to make sure our reperesentations were truly accurate! Did you know that Civil War-era makeup is actually very modest? It's not half as crazy as Elizabethian-Renassance makeup!

Normally, American women during the time of the Civil War would wear;

A light base, a little bit of blush, and sometimes some lip makeup akin to lip gloss.

Eaden and .... are all dressed up and ready for their scenes!

Ah, the dreaded circle of trees! Using a ring of trees allowed for some really cool scenens transitioning between the two girls, allowing for them both to be in the same set with the same emotions bringing them together, however never having them both in veiw of the camera at the same time, still keeping their stories seperate. The circle, however, is also a very tricky shape to film with! You need to be careful that no one is anywhere near the trees in case they move and you accidently get them in a shot, and with a cricle of trees you need to clear people out from a 360 degree area! So, pretty much Violet and Jackson threated everyone except the two main stars until they completly cleared the area! Good thing Clare and Daisy were safe...We needed them for more scenes!

Keep an eye out for this ominous circle of trees! It will show up in one of our videos again soon!
