Monsters

Our first-ever scripted movie is now available on our YouTube channel! In a steampunk era where power is scarce and evil is rampant, two witches pair up to bring themselves ultimate power the only way witches know how; destroy everything else and make them into slaves. Noyta (Tessa) and Riaya (Violet) are a force of pure evil which threatens to consume the world. Venna (Eaden Shriver), however, is not about to let these cruel women get a hand on her quiet, calm-tempered sister, Selnie. Together with their neighbor Verchient (Pual), they will run for their lives. But tragedy follows them, and a burning passion to get revenge for her mother's murder causes Venna to create a plan to destroy the witches once and for all. The fate of the innocent rests in the hands of these three hunters.

Meet Your Heros

Selnie is a gifted girl with a calmer temperament then her sometimes hot-headed sister. She has certain magical powers that are sought after by the witches, making her a prime target. Her name comes from the Russian word for "strong."

Venna is a powerful individual with a mission to protect her sister. A skilled bow master, her name comes from the Latin word for "witch-hunter." A good name for one destined to slay the evil witches of the village!

Verchient is a clever weapons master, skilled in sword-fighting and marksmanship. His family has been close to Venna's for years, so he is naturally the first person she turns to for help. His name comes from the German word for "coy."

The Tepacs, named after the word "Monster" in Greek, are ferocious swamp monsters which reside in the most remote place of rivers and swamps. There they wait to leap on their prey when given the chance. They are often recruited by the Pouli to help with evil plans.

Noyta and Riaya are both powerful witches whose goal is to take over the world. Their power is contained in the necklaces they wear, but getting to their necklaces to destroy them is a difficult feat. Their names come from the words "witch" and "follower" in Finnish. They are known as the Pouli, which means "darkness" in Hawaiian.

The Nui (from the word "crow" in Hawaiian) are friends of the Tepacs, and recruits for the Pouli's evil army.

Setting the Scene

The setting of this story takes place in a mixture of German rural landscape and ancient medieval witch tales. We looked to a variety of steampunk costumes mixed with victorian era clothing for the costumes. Makeup and jewelry is made up mostly of death, gears, and studs, which are popular accents for steampunk looks. Our weapons are based mostly in medieval Europe, with swords and knives, and of course, Venna's bow.

Bow and arrow is a well-known and widely used weapon from ancient wars to modern-day hunting trips. Venna uses a recurve bow, which is easy to understand but sometimes tricky to work. Her bow-master abilities give her an advantage in the field against the powered witches.

Bloopers

Check out the bloopers from this video!

Shriver had a lot of difficult scenes to film in this movie, including gluing gears to her skin and jumping into a pool fully clothed. In the middle of November! She is one brave actress.

Violet convinced us all to go on a coffee run to keep our energy levels high during filming

This excellent duo are skilled in stage fighting, and are responsible for most of the awesome fighting stunts you see on screen. Their on-cscreen throw down in legendary, even though not all of the pain is acting. In a cut, Violet actually got hit in the back with a gate, and continued to have a limp for the rest of the movie. The scene looked so good, however, that it made the final cut!

We had a great time making this movie and we hope you had a good time watching it! Check out our other pages for more cool videos!
